PLANS to turn an empty newsagent’s shop into a fitness centre have been given the go ahead.
The Paper Shop, in Bluehouse Avenue, Clacton, has been disused since August 2009.
Suman Kadambi, owner of the shop, now wants to convert it into a gym.
Proposals for the new fitness centre say it will open between 9am and 9pm Monday to Friday, and 10am to 1pm at weekends.
There will be four members of staff working at the centre.
Officials at Tendring Council have the green light to the plans yesterday.
