A CLACTON man is one question from walking away from a hit TV quiz show with £100,000.

More than two million viewers will tune in tonight to watch bank workers Steve Woodward and Tony Grant answer the final question on Channel 4’s Million Pound Drop.

The pals still have £200,000 of the £1million they were given to gamble with at the start of the show - hosted by Davina McCall.

If they get the cliffhanger question right they will each pocket a cool £100,000.

The lads have been friends since childhood and joined the show last Saturday.

So far they have skillfully got through seven nailbiting rounds.

Steve, 29, from Clacton, said they went on the show looking for their "five minutes of fame" ... and hoping to hit the jackpot.

“Financially speaking, it would make a big difference to us," said Steve is expecting his first child with wife Sarah in January.

“We thought it was a great opportunity to win some money and be on TV,” hes said

Tony, 27, from Colchester, is also about to become a dad for the first time.

“We’re a couple of lads from Essex and we’re normal blokes," he said.

“The one thing we wanted was to get out there and show what people are really like from this area."

The Million Pound Drop is live on Channel 4 at 9pm tonight.
