NURSERY children are taking part in a green-themed week to support St Helena Hospice.
The youngsters from St Clare's Day Nursery in Clacton have been dressing in green and making green cakes and jelly to raise cash for the hospice.
They were also visited by the hospice mascot Dandy Lion, and each paid a pound to take part in a colouring competition with a picture of the giant lion.
Nursery manager Sharon Adams said: “We are a small charity nursery ourselves and we just wanted to do something for the community.
“Everyone has got into the spirit of it and enjoyed taking part, and it has been nice to give something back to the community by fundraising.
“We all know somebody that the hospice has helped and they do a wonderful job in the area.”
The nursery school children are also helping to sell hospice merchandise and will be carrying out activities all week.
