BUSINESS bosses are being urged to sign up for a broadband summit to help them get the most out of the internet.

The event is designed to help firms boost thir business using social media such as Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Experts will also provide the latest information on the roll-out of superfast broadband and the advantages it can bring to companies.

The free summit is being staged in Clacton by Tendring Council and Business Link East.

Council leader Neil Stock said: “Social media may be a relatively new issue for some businesses and this is a chance to learn a great deal in just half a day out of the office, including the pitfalls to avoid and the simple rules to follow – all at no cost.”

“We will have businesses giving case studies on how it has worked for them and feedback on how useful it proved."

The event is being run after companies asked the council how social media could benefit their businesses.

Almost 50 firms have already signed up for the October 18 summit at Clacton Town Hall.

It runs from 9am-1.30pm at the Princes Theatre.
