A PARKING scheme which won a national award last year is to be extended to ten new areas of Tendring.
The Considerate Parking Initiative allows wardens, police officers and PCSOs to place a warning notice on cars parked inconsiderately, such as blocking driveways or too close to junctions.
Instead of fining a driver, the notice tries to make them aware of the problem and encourage them not to park in a similar way again.
Persistent offenders will be given a penalty charge.
The scheme won the Living Streets category of the British Parking Awards in 2010 last year.
The scheme is being extended to the following areas: St Osyth, Ardleigh, Bradfield, Tendring village, Little Bromley, Wrabness, Little Bentley, Wix, Alresford and Great Bentley.
