SOUTHEND United will finally see striker Kirk Hudson in action tonight when they take on Grays Athletic at Roots Hall in the third round of the Essex Senior Cup.
The Shoebury based forward, who was released by Celtic at the end of last season, had been due to play for the Shrimpers second string against Leyton Orient last week but a registration mix-up forced him out of facing the O's.
However, Hudson, 18 is now free to take on the Conference leaders this evening and Blues boss Steve Tilson is looking forward to seeing him in action.
"Kirk's been training with us and he will play tonight," he confirmed. "It's a good chance for him to show us what he can do."
Southend will field a strong reserve starting line-up with Duncan Jupp, Spencer Prior, Carl Pettefer, Mark Gower, Jay Smith, James Lawson and Wayne Gray all playing.
Grays will also select their second string with former Leyton Orient goalkeeper Ashley Bayes between the sticks.
Prices have been set at £3 adults and £1 concessions for the tie which will kick off at 7.30pm.
