Precious Homes is planning to build four new detached lodges at Peter House Learning Disability Care Home, in Sneating Hall Lane, Kirby-le-Soken.
The site currently has a two-storey detached property used for the accommodation of adults with learning disabilities.
The application says: ""The proposed development is situated in a clearing in front of a wooded area to the north of existing dwellings, currently populated by existing storage buildings, timber sheds and a container.
"The buildings and grounds are in a poor state of repair and have been subject to several poor-quality, unsympathetic and ad-hoc additions and alterations that do not meet today’s statutory regulations.
"These proposals... will conserve and enhance the site’s contribution to Tendring."
