Search the Public Notice PortalCLACTON-ON-SEA Golf Club has applied for a licence to extract water from a stream to fill its reservoir.
Clacton-on-Sea Golf Club Limited, which runs the club, is seeking permission to abstract surface water from an unnamed stream, according to an application submitted to the Environment Agency.
The water will be used to fill a reservoir, which will then be used for spray irrigation of the golf club.
Water extraction is set to take place from November 1 to March 31 each year.
The club intends to extract 11 cubic metres of water per hour, accumulating to 259 cubic metres each day.
Annually, the club plans to abstract up to 10,000 cubic metres of water.
The Environment Agency is inviting the public to view the application documents and submit any representations they wish to make regarding the application.
Any representations should quote the name of the applicant and reference number NPS/WR/045457 and be sent to the Environment Agency's Permitting and Support Centre, Water Resources Team, Quadrant 2, 99 Parkway Avenue, Sheffield, S9 4WF, or by email to PSC-WaterResources@environment-agency.gov.uk by October 1, 2026.
