Firefighters spent two hours tackling a large fire that broke out at a scrapyard in a seaside town.
Crews were called to the scene of the incident at Foundry Yard in Walton-on-the-Naze yesterday evening.
A spokesman for Essex County Fire and Rescue said: "Crews from Frinton, Weeley, Clacton and Wivenhoe extinguished a fire at a scrapyard in Foundry Yard, Walton.
"We were called at 8.33pm and it took around two hours to get the fire under control.

"Crews worked with site staff, who used a digger to help us to fully extinguish the fire. Crews left the scene just after midnight.

"The cause has been recorded as undetermined."
The fire broke out near the Naze Marine Holiday Park, however it is understood that the caravan park was unaffected.
Plumes of smoke could be seen from around the town.
