Frinton emergency response as man dies in difficulty at sea

A man has tragically died after getting into difficulty in the sea at Frinton.

Police were contacted by ambulance service colleagues shortly before 2.10pm today, July 30, who reported that a man had got into difficulty in the sea off The Esplanade and had been brought ashore.

Despite the efforts of emergency services, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The man’s family has been informed and is being supported by officers.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "Our thoughts are with them at this difficult time.

"Emergency service personnel remain at the scene and our response is continuing."

Members of the public are being asked to avoid the area to allow emergency services to carry out their work safely.
