A DIFFICULT challenge has raised more than £5,000 for charity.
The fourth edition of the Harlow to Clacton bike ride took place last Saturday, July 18.
It was co-organised by Clacton resident Elaine Lacey, 65, in memory of son Greg Burton, who died aged 38 on July 31, 2022.
Greg, was a father of two children, battled with mental health issues, then alcohol addiction and spent a considerable amount of time homeless in Harlow for more than a year while fighting his demons.
The 67-mile ride ended at the Martello Lounge at Clacton Pier and this year’s event raised £6,350. Last year’s event raised £5,138.
Funds will be donated again to the Chocolate Run which helps the homeless and vulnerable.
