A WORLD Cup-themed sandcastle took the top spot in a Frinton sandcastle competition.
Bakers of Danbury won the annual contest, which is hosted by Daniel Connal Partnership (DCP) on Frinton beach to mark the consultancy’s 80th anniversary.
Teams were invited to sculpt defining moments from the past 80 years out of sand.
Jonathan Dennis, partner at DCP, said: "Our annual sandcastle competition has become one of the highlights of the DCP calendar because it brings together clients, partners and colleagues in a completely different and relaxed setting.
"As we celebrate our 80th anniversary, it felt like the perfect opportunity to invite the teams to create something that, in their eyes, reflected a defining event of the past eight decades.
"It was fantastic to see so much creativity, friendly competition and team spirit on display once again."
The winning team impressed judges, including Frinton’s Mayor, councillor Mark Cossens, and Deputy Mayor, councillor Andrea Cossens.
Second place went to Inkpen Downie for their Apollo moon landing sculpture.
Other entries included the Channel Tunnel, the NHS, the Covid-19 pandemic, and the Greater Gabbard Offshore Wind Farm.

The event ended with fish and chips on the beach.
DCP’s sandcastle competition has been held since 2011, with a short break during the pandemic.
The competition forms part of the firm’s 80th anniversary celebrations, which also include a pledge to complete 80 Acts of Good throughout the year.
