COACH operators and group organisers are urged to plan ahead for this summer’s Clacton Airshow.
Dedicated drop-off and parking arrangements have been put in place to ensure smoother visits during the event, which returns on Thursday, August 27 and Friday, August 28.
The airshow is expected to draw thousands to the Essex coast for two days of aerial displays and seafront entertainment.
Ivan Henderson, councillor responsible for economic growth, regeneration and tourism at Tendring Council, said: "We want everyone’s journey to be as easy and stress-free as possible, and these coach arrangements are designed to help groups arrive safely and conveniently while keeping the town moving during one of our busiest events of the year."
To ease congestion, a designated coach drop-off point will be available at Angle Field (CO15 6PH) with drivers advised to follow event signage and traffic management directions.
Following drop-off, coaches should park at Clacton Leisure Centre on Vista Road (CO15 6DB) for the duration of the visit.
Mr Henderson said: "Clacton Airshow is a jewel in the crown of the Essex Sunshine Coast – one of the biggest and most anticipated events in the East of England, drawing tens of thousands of visitors to our seafront each summer.
"Whether people are coming by coach, car, bus or train, planning ahead really does make a difference and helps everyone enjoy the day from the moment they arrive.
"With the Red Arrows returning and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight in the programme and plenty more to enjoy on the ground, Clacton Airshow 2026 is shaping up to be another unforgettable celebration on the Essex Sunshine Coast."
Coach drivers are advised to use the recommended route: head straight onto Wash Lane, turn right onto Freeland Road, then right again onto Tower Road.
They should then turn left onto Marine Parade and continue through the lights onto Marine Parade East, following the signs to Angle Field.
Additional options for visitors include a Park and Ride service from Clacton Shopping Village on Stephenson Road West, operated by KonectBuses, and the official event car park at West Road, managed by the Clacton-on-Sea Rotary Club.
Greater Anglia will also be running extra train services during the event.
Road closures and temporary traffic measures will be in effect around the seafront, so all visitors are encouraged to allow extra time and plan their journey in advance.
