A COMMEMORATIVE service will be held in Clacton to mark the anniversary of the end of the Falklands War.
The service is organised by the Clacton branch of the Royal British Legion in partnership with Tendring Council, and will be held at Clacton War Memorial at 11am on Sunday, June 14.
Richard Geddes, chairman of the Royal British Legion, will lead the service, which will include wreath-laying and the reading of the Falklands Epitaph.
Councillor Ann Oxley, chairwoman of Tendring Council, will also give a reading.
Councillor Oxley said: "This commemoration is a moment for Clacton to pause and reflect on the courage of those who served in the Falklands, and to remember those who never returned.
"It is important that we continue to mark occasions like this with dignity, ensuring their sacrifice remains part of our shared remembrance."

Councillor Dan Casey, Tendring's Armed Forces champion, encouraged residents to attend.
He said: "We would be very pleased to see residents, veterans and local forces’ organisations come together for this service on Clacton seafront.
"It is especially important that younger generations have the chance to learn about the Falklands conflict and understand the service and sacrifice it involved."
