CLACTON Pier will be celebrating Father’s Day on Sunday with free rides for all dads.
The seaside attraction announced the offer for dads as part of its Father’s Day celebrations, now in their third year, with free wristbands for dads who purchase a Big Day Out Band for a child.
Nigel Brown, communications manager at Clacton Pier, said: "It is a chance for the adults to enjoy the rides and make happy memories with their children without any extra cost to them.
"The offer for dads is extended to grandpas, uncles and guardians over 18 and applies when a Big Day Out Band is bought for a child.
"The adult will then be offered a free wristband."
This will also apply to children who are using their annual rides pass on Sunday.
Mr Brown said: "We normally hand out hundreds of bands and we are looking forward to doing the same this time."
The pier runs a similar scheme for mums on Mother’s Day in March.
Alongside the Father’s Day offer, Clacton Pier will also host its first Clacton Live music event of the season this weekend, in partnership with Laughing Bulldog Events.
The Reggae weekender kicks off at 1pm on Saturday, June 13 and Sunday, June 14.
It will feature solo artist Mitchell Joseph, bands Natural Right, and five-piece Blue Mountain, led by singer Christina Akasha.
On Sunday, June 14, the music continues with performances from Runaway Bay, FYA, and Reggae Falls, wrapping up at 6pm.
All performances are free with no need to book, and will take place on a specially constructed outdoor stage outside the Boardwalk Bar and Grill.
The Reggae weekender ends at 8pm on Saturday and 6pm on Sunday.

Other themed weekends will include Country Music from June 20 to 21, and Best of British from June 27 to 28.
Mr Brown said: "There should something to suit all musical tastes across the three weekends – or come and watch them all."
A variety of food and drink options will be available throughout the events, including specialist vendors.
