HUNDREDS of presents have been delivered to children in need across the district thanks to residents' kindness.

Tendring police ran its Community Christmas Tree Appeal again this year, setting up donation points in shops around the district.

The force invited residents to donate toys, games and gifts so officers can deliver them to children at Christmas.

Due to the kindness of the hundreds of people who donated, 860 presents were delivered to children across the district.

An Essex Police spokesman said: "We are truly humbled by the incredible generosity of the Tendring community this year.

"We would love to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our Community Christmas Tree Appeal.

"Your donations, big or small, have made a real difference, especially during these challenging times.

"We’re grateful to local businesses, community members, and even those who raised funds or gave their pocket money to help spread joy.

"Special thanks to the stores that provided drop-off points and to the amazing volunteers who wrapped and delivered presents, you are the heart of this appeal.

"Finally, a huge shout-out to Jamie Skipper for leading the appeal again this year

"Together, we’ve made Christmas brighter for hundreds of families. Thank you, Tendring!"
