Mr Corcoran, a former army instructor, said: "We're predominantly an army and navy store so we sell shooting and fishing equipment, and airguns and Airsoft stuff.

"We also do outdoor clothing, military clothing, stuff with bushcraft and survival items.

"There is also a lot of collectable stuff, antique bits, and oddities you just wouldn't find in any other shop.

"We try and keep it really interesting by always rotating stock, finding new stock and catering to what the locals want.

"When we first opened we geared it to people in the military, but we soon found it was not so much the soldiers coming in, but more locals so that's when we started tailoring it.

The shop has always had a niche market, and continues to cater to it.

Mr Corcoran said: "I think it is nowadays important to be niche because there's just so much competition about.

"Being by the coast has certainly got its advantages because it's quite busy in the summer

"People think we're limited because we are by the sea, but we have had customers come up from London especially just to come to this shop."

Mr Corcoran, who is a bodybuilder in his spare time, is always branching out to sell new and unique items.

He said: "The shop evolved organically really.

"As time went on the shop has just diversified, we found new and better suppliers, and listened to what the customers wanted, and tailored it to that.

"Every year we try and change it around a little bit. We swap stock around, we move stuff around, just so it doesn't stay stagnant."
