THE second headliner has been revealed for next year’s Colchester Castle Summer Series.
Dance-pop artist Becky Hill will headline the series of concerts in Lower Castle Park on Saturday, August 22, 2026.
It follows the announcement earlier this month that global music icon Billy Ocean will headline the Summer Series on August 20.
A spokesperson for the Colchester Castle Summer Series said: “A two-time BRIT Award winner and one of the UK’s most in-demand live performers, Becky Hill has carved out a reputation as one of British pop’s most powerful and authentic voices.
“With over 10billion career streams, six UK Top 10 hits, and collaborations with global names including David Guetta, Chase & Status, Sigala, Wilkinson, and MNEK, Becky’s catalogue of euphoric anthems — from Remember and Crazy What Love Can Do to Disconnect and Afterglow — has dominated radio and dancefloors alike.
“A fierce advocate for women in dance music, Becky’s combination of powerhouse vocals, raw honesty, and electrifying stage energy make her one of the most compelling live acts of her generation.”
For the eight Summer Series shows this year, there were headline performances from The Smashing Pumpkins on August 14, Busted on August 15, Craig David on August 16, Tom Jones on August 18, Texas on August 21, and Madness on August 23.
Two festivals also happened, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell headlined reggae day festival Roots East on August 17, which Mr Campbell spoke to the Gazette about.
Meanwhile Manchester group James headlined the Out of Time Festival on August 22.
Fans have even shared their views on which acts they would love to headline the event next year with acts such as Paul Weller, Prodigy, and Bob Dylan all being mentioned.
Indie rockers White Lies even spoke to the Gazette about their time in the city and supporting The Smashing Pumpkins.
The team behind the event, promoters Soundcrash and Supermodified, are well-known in the UK for hosting popular events like the Margate Summer Series, London’s South Facing Festival, Hitchin Priory Series, and Cardiff Bay Series.
Tickets for the Becky Hill concert go on sale Friday at 10am and the supporting line-up will be announced at a later date.
Further announcements are expected over the next couple of months.
