A NORTH Essex man who was killed in a terror attack will have his memory honoured at a Colchester charity concert which will be headlined by a popular rock duo.
The Nick Alexander Music Trust will host its latest A Peaceful Noise concert across 10 currently unannounced accessible-friendly venues in Colchester on November 22.
It will remember Nick Alexander, 35, a former Colchester Royal Grammar School student who grew up in Weeley and died in the Bataclan theatre terror attack in Paris in 2015.
The Bataclan music venue was stormed by terrorists in a gun and bomb rampage that killed 89 there and more than 130 across the city.
Nick was selling merchandise for the US rock band Eagles Of Death Metal, who were performing in the venue at the time.
Zoe Alexander, his sister, set up the Nick Alexander Music Trust the year after his death, it awards grants for musical equipment to small charities and community groups across the UK.
A Peaceful Noise will be headlined by BRIT Award and Mercury Prize nominees, Nova Twins, whose fans include Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello and even songwriter Elton John.
Zoe said: “We're absolutely thrilled that Nova Twins will be joining us for our massive A Peaceful Noise takeover event this year.
"Although the heart of the event is to commemorate the awful events of ten years ago, the Nick Alexander Music Trust is all about a future looking legacy, using music to bring our communities together and standing together in solidarity to play more and play louder.
“There's no-one out there right now that brings that spirit better than Nova Twins. We can't wait to see them smash it out of the park.”
Nova Twins, comprised of London duo Amy Love and Georgia South, released their third record Parasites & Butterflies in August.
The lineup also includes Radio X DJ John Kennedy, plus Colchester acts Pet Needs, Bridget, Monster Florence, to name a few.
A major special guest is still yet to be announced.
Early bird tickets cost £30 plus a booking fee, and you will receive a wristband which can be used across the participating venues.
It will run from 3pm until 2am.
Proceeds raised will go directly to the Nick Alexander Music Trust and a percentage will also be donated to charities supported by the Mayor of Colchester.
