Residents in Clacton, Holland-on-Sea, and Jaywick have just a couple of weeks left to express their views on the introduction of new town councils.
Tendring Council is currently carrying out a review to decide if this is the right time to establish town councils for the three areas.
Every other town and village in the district has its own town or parish council.
The potential creation of new councils comes as a larger, overarching council is on the horizon, possibly with its main base away from Clacton.
As part of the three-month consultation, hundreds of residents attended public briefing sessions in July, where they could learn more, ask questions and share their views.
The initial consultation closes on September 30, and residents are being urged to make sure their voices are heard.

Tendring Council leader Mark Stephenson said the review is a chance for communities to consider how they want to be represented in the years ahead.
Mr Stephenson said: "We’ve had a great response so far, and it’s clear that people care deeply about how their communities are represented.
"From talking with residents, I know there are many more people that plan to respond but just haven’t yet.
"I say to them not to miss out and to make sure they submit their views.
"Time is getting tight and every voice needs to be heard."
Residents can respond by completing the survey included with the consultation letter, or by filling it out online at tendringdc.gov.uk/community-governance-review.
Paper copies of the consultation form can also be picked up at various locations, including Clacton Town Hall and Jaywick's Sunspot, in Brooklands.
A final decision is expected in March 2026, and if approved, new councils could be formed from April 1, 2027.
Town councils take up issues local to the people living in their areas and can take responsibility for local parks, leisure services, events and facilities.
They are also consulted as part of the process for planning applications in the area.
