Clacton County High School celebrates GCSE results

Head of school, Chris Taylor, said: "The results for this year have been a just reward for all the hard work and effort put in by the students and staff.

"I am delighted for our students and their families and my congratulations go out to them all.

Particularly outstanding were Kayleigh Howe, who achieved seven grade 9s, three grade 8s, and one Distinction, and Tamar Celbi, George Barr, Ruby Gallagher, and Sam Whitfield, whose grades were predominantly 7s, 8s, and 9s.

GCSE students Charlotte Finch and Seth Garner (Image: Clacton County High School) Four students who made the most progress since joining in Year 7 were Noemi Gancarz, Bradley Howden, Faith Bunce and Alexis Dobinson, who all secured many high grades.

Best friends Lexi and Hannah, from Clacton County High School, are delighted with their results. 

Lexi Denton-Redgewell, 16, said: Mostly I passed everything. I’m going to Colchester Sixth Form college to do psychology, philosophy and criminology.

“I don’t know what job I want yet I just know I want to go to university.”

Lexi got a  Distinction 1 in PE, 5 in physics, 5 in biology, 5 in chemistry, 5 in English literature, 7 in English language, 4 in maths, 6 in history and a distinction 2 in child development.

Hannah Finch, 16, said: “I did not pass everything but it’s alright.

“I am going to do criminology, history and music because I want to be an archivist which is kind of opposing of all things.

“We are good friends and we studied before the exams together.

“I’m going to go home and play Minecraft.”

Hannah got a 3 in maths, pass 1 in sports, 2 in science, 3 in English literature, 3 in English language, 3 in art design, 3 in history and a merit 2 in music.
