Lift Tendring celebrates students' GCSE results 2025

This year’s group were in their last year at primary school when schools were locked down, facing a very different start to their secondary education during the pandemic.

The school said that students have shown "resilience and determination" during their studies and when sitting their exams in May and June.

Risaab Miah, Edward Mckinnon, Oscar Moore, Freya Prince, Freya Cayo and Mai Do with their GCSE results (Image: Lift Schools) Lift Tendring congratulates all of their students, including some of the high performers such as Oscar Moore, who achieved eight grade 9s and one Level 2 Distinction, and Risaab Miah, who achieved three grade 9s, two grade 8s, two grade 7s, one Distinction Star, and one Distinction.

Mai Do achieved one grade 9, six grade 8s, one grade 7s and one Level 2 Distinction, while Freya Prince achieved six grade 8s and two grade 7s.

Freya Cayo received four grade 9s, one grade 8, one grade 7 and two grade 6s, and Edward Mckinnon achieved four grade 9s, one grade 7 and two Level 2 Distinctions.

Principal at Lift Tendring, Tom Burt, said: "The year 11s have worked incredibly hard and I am so proud of the results they have achieved.

"We are delighted to share in their success today and look forward to hearing about their next steps."

To help prepare for this year's examinations, pupils were offered additional revision classes and tutoring, independent learning access at college, holiday sessions, and after-school interventions.

This extra support paid off, with many students achieving the grades required to go on to sixth form for A-levels, BTECs, and further vocational study.

Regional education director at Lift Schools, Simon Cox, said: "This is another exceptional year for our students at Lift Tendring.

"I hope they are happy with the results they are receiving today, after a lot of hard work, both from our young people and the support from staff and their parents and carers."
