AN award-winning film will be screened at a Clacton cinema, raising money for charity.

Longhurst and Putt Productions was stunned when its film Lucas and Albert beat Hollywood blockbusters such as 1917 to win best feature at the National Film Awards in 2021.

The film will now be shown at Clacton's Century Cinema on September 25 at 7.30pm.

Producer Anthony Longhurst said: “For those of you who have missed it this could be the last chance to see our award-winning film at the cinema it all began at.

“There will be a short film as well, Lay-By, written by local writer Julian White as well as an exclusive look at the trailer for our next release, Tales of the Underworld.”

There will be a Q&A at the event as well as a trailer for their next film, Babysitter, which is the final film in the trilogy.

Both Lucas and Albert and Tales of the Underworld were shot in Tendring with the help of businesses and the community.

Mr Longhurst said: “We also gave opportunities to a local artist who worked alongside a very established cast.

“So don’t miss out on the chance to see how this low budget independent film company shocked everyone.”

The screening will be raising money for Cancer Research UK.
