BOAT trips around Walton’s Backwaters by a popular operator have been cancelled for the foreseeable future.
Wildlife Boat Trips offers two-hour trips around Walton, starting from Titchmarsh Marina.
Led by Tony Haggis, the popular tours give a look at wildlife in the area, and are a fantastic opportunity to spot harbour seals in their natural habitats.
Former commercial fisherman Tony has been running tours on the backwaters in his 28ft converted lifeboat Karina for nearly 30 years.
Earlier this month, trips were paused, with the operator now confirming Mr Haggis’ ill health as the reason.
In a statement released by the team, it said: “Although he does appreciate the calls for trips, he’s asking could you please not call at the moment.
“He is seriously ill, and he won’t be doing anything for some time, certainly not this season.”
