Film crews are set to take over Tendring’s former council offices in Weeley for a movie production.
Tendring Council has informed residents about an ongoing film shoot at the former offices in Colchester Road.
Following anti-immigration protests outside a hotel in Epping, the council wanted to reassure residents the production had been prearranged and there was no cause for concern.
A council spokesman said: “Don’t be alarmed if you see some filming happening at our former council offices in Weeley over the coming days.
“You might see crowds of people, special FX, and camera crews.
“This is the National Film and TV School, which is using the offices to shoot some scenes for a fictional drama short film production - and they have all the required permissions from us and our partners.
“Film and TV production brings a real boost to our local economy and supports the arts and creative sectors, and we're really pleased to work with the Essex Film Office on projects such as these.”
