A TRIBUTE to Whitney Houston is coming to the Princes Theatre in Clacton later this year.

South African vocal sensation Belinda Davids will bring her acclaimed Whitney Houston tribute show, The Greatest Love of All, to the theatre on Friday, September 19.

The Clacton show is part of a UK and Ireland-wide tour, which are Belinda's first shows in the region since 2023.

Belinda will bring her international live band and backing vocalists, and will also show off some new costumes.

There will also be some surprise songs not previously performed in the UK.

The two-hour show, which is not affiliated with the estate of Whitney Houston, is directed by John Van Grinsven, chief executive and founder of Showtime Australia.

Belinda said: "I love the beautiful, old, smaller theatres – when you’re singing the most epic ballads in the world it creates such a special, intimate atmosphere… and it’s also good fun for the dance songs too."

The Sussex Newspaper, in a review, said Belinda's performance was "effortlessly slick, superbly performed and truly professional… five stars".

Belinda's talent has been recognised worldwide, having risen to international fame thanks to viral TV performances on Britain’s Got Talent, Europe’s Got Talent: All Stars, and Showtime at the Apollo.

She continues to add new countries to her list of fans, with France, Brazil, Chile and Sint Maarten among the countries she has debuted in over the past year.

With Belinda’s talent in high demand worldwide, these are expected to be her only UK and Irish performances for the next two years.

Upper Circle said: "It feels like the pop diva really is in the room", while Theatre People described the show as "a triumph on every level".
