THE pioneering stars of rock'n'roll music came from one music studio in the 50s - Sun Records.
Sun Records: The Concert is a night of live rock'n'roll classics with hits from the top stars of the 50s and 60s at Clacton's West Cliff Theatre.
Recognised worldwide as the birthplace of rock and roll, Sun Records in Memphis, is famed for discovering legends such as Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Johnny Cash and Roy Orbison to name but a few.
The show, which was rehearsed in an exact replica of the Sun Records studio, is on June 27, from 7.30pm.
Producer Pete Tobit said: "During the 50s, the trailblazing Sun Studio created the songs that became the template of rock’n’roll,
“That's Alright Mama, Great Balls of Fire, I Walk the Line, Whole Lotta Shakin', Blue Suede Shoes and Good Rockin’ Tonight were all original Sun recordings.
"Musical visionary Sam Phillips crafted the distinctive sound we know and love today from gospel, blues, hillbilly, country, boogie and western swing.
"Sun Records, The Concert takes the audience right inside the studio where the magic happened and lets the music do the talking.”
The show has even gained approval from the official Sun Entertainment Corporation.
