A BOATING lake is reopening for the first time since the pandemic.
The lake on Brightlingsea's Promenade Way is due to open to the public on May 5.
Town councillors have joined forces with the Scouts to restore the rowing boats ahead of the relaunch.
The lake will be operated by volunteers from the Scout group, giving residents and visitors the chance to enjoy the lake in a safe but fun manner.
The project supports local youth engagement and helps preserve one of Brightlingsea’s heritage assets.
Town councillors thanked the Scouts on social media.
They said: "Thanks to their hard work and community spirit, the boats have been restored to full working order and are now ready for public enjoyment.
"We extend our thanks to Rod Green, who masterminded the refurbishment of six rowing boats, and to the Scouts and town councillors for their time, dedication, and teamwork in bringing this project to life."
