A MADCAP musical comedy is set to lift the roof at Clacton's Princes Theatre.
Rock of Ages will be performed by Clacton Musical Theatre Society's talented amateur cast.
A spokesman said: "We are immensely excited to bring this high-energy, crowd-pleasing musical to life for our local community.
"As a local charity, we are very grateful for the support from the community and have been lucky enough to secure sponsorship from another local business Allwin Scaffolding, which has allowed us to be creative with our staging and has taken some of the financial pressure away."
The show takes place in 1980s Hollywood, and follows aspiring rockstar and current toilet cleaner Drew.
Aqua Net, Lycra, lace and liquor flow freely at one of the Sunset Strip's last legendary venues.
Amidst the madness, Drew, longs to take to the stage as the next big thing, and when small town girl Sherrie arrives fresh off the bus, he longs for her too.
But the rock 'n' roll fairy tale is about to end when German developers sweep into town with plans to turn the fabled Strip into just another capitalist mall, closing the Bourbon Room.
Rock of Ages runs from June 26 to 28 at the Princes Theatre, in Station Road, with shows at 7.30pm, and a 2.30pm Saturday matinee performance.
Single tickets cost £18 and a ticket for a table of six at the front of the theatre costs £120.
