THREE bullocks "caused havoc" after they escaped from their field in a village.
The bullocks escaped from Brookelynne Farm Shop, in Chapel Road, Beaumont-cum-Moze, on Sunday (March 16).
Following the escape, bosses at the farm shop called for help rounding up the animals home as they scattered into surrounding fields and woodland.
In a post on Facebook, the farm shop said: "They say that you should live like someone left the gate open. Yesterday our three bullocks did just that.
"They escaped, ironically not through the gate, very early and caused havoc across the village."
One resident called the police to assist in the search.
But a National Police Air Service helicopter used to help find the bullocks spooked them and split the trio up.
Yesterday morning (March 17) farm shop workers were out again trying to get the remaining two bullocks home.
By the late evening all three were back home.
Bosses at the farm shop thanked villagers for helping in the rescue of the cows.
A spokesman said: "So many people rushed to our aid, scrambled through brambles, ran across fields, drove country lanes and kept an eye out for our missing beasts.
"From family members, farming neighbours, friends and the general public - people flocked to our aid and we are overwhelmed and so grateful.
"They wouldn't be back in our yard without your support.
"We are so fortunate to live in such a vibrant, caring and supportive community."
