A FRINTON photography shop which has expanded into an art studio is now hosting up to 20 exhibitions a year.
We spoke to Photovogue Studio, in Connaught Avenue, as part of our new campaign to support the dozens of fantastic independent and family-owned businesses in the Tendring district.
Photovogue Studio is a well-loved photography studio and art gallery which has been providing art lovers with printing services, art sales as well as beautiful gallery set-ups.
Mr Davies said: "The original owner of the show was Bob Kettle and he opened the shop down the High Street some 19 years ago.
"I used to work for him on and off and when he decided to retire I was able to purchase the business from him about seven years ago.
"Back then it was purely a photographic shop rather than anything to do with art but Covid put a hold on a lot of photography so I changed the rear of the shop into an art gallery."
Mr Davies said: "The shop itself has huge amounts of stuff such as media conversion, large scale printing, photographic printing, bespoke framing, collages canvas printing and aluminium printing.
"In the art gallery we have lots of different exhibitions throughout the years sometimes up to 20 different exhibitions a year and I have plenty planned for next year."
Mr Davies takes his own photos of landscapes and natural scenery all over the world from Walton to Scotland to Estonia.
He said: "I have been a photographer and around photography for most of my life because my father was a Fleet Street photographer - hence my interest in photography."
