Clacton's RNLI lifeboat crew conducted a shoreline search after reports of a person facing difficulty in the water around Jaywick.
On Sunday, November 5, the crew launched the D-Class inshore lifeboat Damar’s Pride and rushed to the area.
They conducted a thorough shoreline search through to the Martello Holiday Park area but no casualty was located.
The UK Coastguard later said the casualty was safe and well in the care of Essex Police.
The lifeboat crew was stood down and returned to the lifeboat station.
