BUSINESS owners in Manningtree were given the opportunity to speak with police officers about their concerns during a day of action.

Tendring’s Community Policing Team held a street meeting in Manningtree on Friday.

They met with residents and visitors including councillors Carlo and Val Guglielmi and Alan Coley and discussed people’s concerns.

Officers from the Business Crime Unit also attended and walked through the high street speaking with business owners offering advice and listening to any concerns they may have.

Officers also carried out speed checks and spoke to speeding motorists caught flouting limits on The Walls and in New Road, Mistley.

A spokesman said: “Uniformed officers also conducted foot patrol around various locations.

“Speed checks were conducted by our rural engagement team and Community Policing Team in various locations around Manningtree and Mistley including The Walls and New Road.

“Four motorists were captured exceeding the limit and have been spoken to. We will continue to monitor these and other locations in this area.”
