SOUTH Essex already has hundreds of great places to eat, but there are still many more restaurants set to be on their way.

Here are some of the restaurants set to be opening in south Essex:

Wagamama:

There is a new Wagamama’s set to be heading to Southend.

The Asian eatery chain will be in the former Bella Italia site in London Road.

It is unknown when it will be opening but jobs have been listed online recently.

Zinnia:

This pan-Pacific inspired restaurant is set to open in September.

It is part of a £125 million Clifftown Shore, 51-apartment, development along Southend seafront.

The menu is best described as a melee of fresh, colourful dishes such as California sushi rolls, ahi tuna ceviche and beef tataki to Japanese A5 wagyu and miso cod.

Five Guys:

Five Guys is bringing a second branch to south Essex, and it will be at the Festival Leisure Park.

It is set to open next month and is replacing the former Villagio restaurant.

The restaurant is predicted to be a huge hit with the community.

Picante:

This is a new Italian restaurant set to open in Leigh Broadway, on the former TUI travel agent’s site.

Picante are owned by the same people who run the nearby independent restaurant The Brunch Company, also in the Broadway.

They recently applied for an licencing application which received 18 objections, however, they have since adapted the application to try and please those who objected.

Just Greek:

This is a new Greek style restaurant lined up to open in Hamlet Court Road, in Westcliff.

Those behind the plans are two best friends who have both come from Greece.

They are set to open in just three weeks’ time.

Taco Bell:

Taco Bell is aiming to convert the former Moss Bros store at 84 High Street into a restaurant and takeaway.

Plans for the site show 25 tables would be installed in the restaurant, which will serve dishes such as tacos, nachos, and burritos.

There are currently fewer than 100 Taco Bell currently operating in the UK but more than 7,000 open in the US.
