A DISPERSAL order was put in place in Southend yesterday in response tin invididuals suspected to be intent on causing disorder.
The order is running between 3:40pm yesterday, Thursday, and 8am, today, Friday.
It is unknown whether the dispersal order will be extended, but there have yet to be any confirmed reports of disturbances in Southend last night.
A dispersal order is covering Old Leigh, Chalkwell Beach and esplanade, and the cinder path linking the two areas.
Essex Police say the order was put in place in response to a group of individuals entering the area who are suspected to be intent on causing disorder.
An inspector at the Southend Community Policing Team also added many young people were expected to be out and celebrating the end of their exams.
Updates to follow.
