POLICE are asking for information following a viral video of a woman performing a lewd sex act outside a seafront pub.

The video, filmed in the smoking area of Chinnery’s pub, shows a woman being egged on by punters to carry out a sex act on a man.

The video has since been shared thousands of times on social media, with many viewers left horrified.

In response to the incident, Glyn Morgan, co-owner of Chinnery’s, said they are disgusted.

He said: “We are totally disgusted by this event, none of our staff witnessed this.

“We work hard to run a family friendly live venue and pub, and in our opinion, people like this are not welcome in Southend and certainly not in Chinnerys.”

It is believed the video was filmed on June 17 - the hottest day of the year so far.

A number of spectators can be heard cheering the woman on as she performs the sex act during the video.

One man yelled “100 quid, go, go” while another recorded the incident.

During the video, two men in high vis jackets appeared as though they were about to step in, before the two stopped carrying out the act.

A spokesman for Essex Police said: “We are aware of a video being shared online that shows a woman and a man acting inappropriately at a premises in Marine Parade, Southend.”

According to the Sexual Offences Act 2003, a public sex act isn’t technically illegal, however, it could be seen as indecent exposure, which is a crime.

Indecent exposure is defined as “the crime of intentionally showing one’s sexual organs in public” and “the act of outraging public decency by being naked in a public place”.

Police urged anyone with information in this incident to get in contact.

A spokesman for Essex Police added: “Anyone with information can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm.

“You can also call us on 101 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.”
