A LANDMARK church which has been vacant for three years has hit the market for an eye-watering sum of money.

The Westcliff United Reformed Church, in Kings Road, Leigh-on-Sea, has been put up for sale for £1.2 million.

The religious setting is surrounded by residential housing and situated within easy access to a range of local shops, café's and other facilities.

The two buildings, a church and a meeting hall, are believed to have been constructed between 1913 and 1915 and have been empty since 2018.

Clacton and Frinton Gazette:

They are constructed of brick and ashlar stone with pitched timber truss roofs covered in slate tiles and are detached, interlinked and predominantly single storey.

Externally, the buildings are situated on a rectangular plot and there is a small off-road parking area between the church and the highway.

Inside, the historic and open plan church boasts a worship area, vestry office, toilet areas, a gallery, and storage area.
