The saying will once again honour Guy Fawkes’ unsuccessful plot to blow up the Houses Of Parliament in 1605.

With Bonfire Night around the corner, there will be plenty of firework displays across north Essex for you to enjoy.

Here is a list of some of the displays being put on this year - many of which are raising funds for charities - and how to get your hands on somce tickets.

King Coel’s Kittens Firework Display

This event marks the 50th annual charity display held by King Coel’s Kittens.

The show takes place at Colchester Castle Park on Friday at 6pm with the Guy parade beginning at 7pm and the bonfire being lit at 7.30pm.

The fireworks display will kick off at 7.40pm.

Tickets are £9.50 for adults and £3.50 for children aged 4 to 15 and must be bought in advance.

Mayflower Primary School Display

The exploding exhibition of pyrotechnics will take place at the school in Main Road, Dovercourt, with face painting, tombolas, popcorn, and candy floss on offer.

The fireworks display will be held on Thursday starting at 7pm, with doors opening at 5.30pm.

Tickets are £4 for adults and free for 5s.

Clacton Pier Free Firework Display

If you love both the sea and fireworks, this experience combines them both for you.

The free firework display will be held at Clacton Pier on Saturday.

The set off time for the fireworks will not be released due to changes in weather, darkness and safety checks.

Dogs are also not allowed on-site, with the exception of guide dogs.

 

Elmstead’s Big Bang Fireworks Festival

Hosted by Elmstead Primary School’s PTA, the fireworks festival will offer a night of live music, food and fun.

The firework display will take place on Sunday at Elmstead Cricket Club in Church Road.

Gates will open at 4pm, with fireworks kicking off at 7pm.

The profits from the event will go toward the school’s PTA.

Tickets are £6 for adults, £4 for children and under 4s enter for free.

Harwich Primary School and Nursery Display

The Barrack Lane school will be holding a firework extravaganza tonight between 4.30pm and 7pm.

The entertainment will feature a display of Aurora Fireworks, a family-business which won the 2021 British Firework Championships.

The event will also raise funds for the school with a number of family activities on offer, including BBQ, drinks, and hot chocolate special.

Earls Colne Primary School Display

Visitors at Earls Colne Primary School in Parks Lane will be able to enjoy Pyromania fireworks with food stalls, glow sticks and sweets on Saturday.

Gates open at 5.30pm and the first display will be at 6.30pm. All profits from which will go back to the school.

Tickets are available in Earls Cone at We.are.table, Ziel Design and Fork’andles.

Adult tickets are £7, child tickets are £5 and those under 4s enter for free.

Family ticket for five members are £20.

Kelvedon St Mary’s Primary Academy Display

THE school is hosting a display on Saturday in the hopes of raising enough money to be able to give each year group a school trip.

Doors open at 5pm with a children’s performance at 5.30pm, and the display at 6.30pm.

There will also be a range of food stalls, mulled wine, glow toys, and a raffle.

Tickets are available from Kelvedon Post Office, The Sandwich Shop, Cottees Butchers, and ParentPay, at £6 for adults and £3 for children.

On the gate entry will be £8 for adults and £4 for children, with free entry for under 3s.

Brantham Fireworks Display

Brantham Leisure Centre in New Village will also be lighting up the sky on Saturday.

Gates open at 6pm with entertainment, food, drink, and music by DJ Micky P and DARC. Tickets will be sold on the entrance and cost £5 for adults and £2 for under 16s.
