PROMENADE park is set to welcome a new business this weekend which says its bringing affordable family kayaking back to Maldon.

Splash Kayaking launches its pilot Splash on the Prom sessions on Saturday.

The boating lake in the park is a new venue for the business who's reservoir is set in Hadleigh Country Park.

Owner and founder of Splash Kayaking Alexa Cadwallader said: "I am immensely proud of how the Splash brand has grown in the past few years, I believe we offer some of the most inclusive kayaking sessions for the whole community.

"This summer alone we ran sessions for more than 3,100 adults and children and this included sessions for groups with learning disabilities, sessions for young carers, foster families, youth groups, scout groups.

"And through the Active Essex Activate programme we offered free sessions for families eligible for benefits-based free school meals as well as offering sessions for families, birthday parties and celebrations that, because of Covid, had to be rearranged and reimagined."

The sit-on-top kayaks are stable and easy to use making them ideal for the whole family.
