A CHARITY is set to host a Halloween event for which children will be able to dress up as their favourite caped crusaders.

Sonny’s Army, based in Jaywick, has organised a Superheroes Disco Party, which will take place at St Christopher’s Church, in Meadow Way.

The young guests who swoop into the event will embody the characters of everyone from Wonder Woman and Batman to Thor and Iron Man.

The party, being held on October 30, will feature a variety of games and food and drink will also be available to purchase on the night.

Tickets cost £1 and all proceeds will go towards the continued running of Sonny’s Army, which helps families children who need additional medical support.

The organisation was founded in honour of Sonny-Lee Cook, who was born prematurely in December 2016 suffering critical congenital heart disease.

The four-year-old, whose family founded Sonny’s Army to help others, is now battling back after enduring a nine and a half hour cavopulmonary connection operation.
