AN adult community learning provider has launched a new programme of courses designed to support residents after the furlough scheme came to an end.

ACL Essex has developed a series of ‘Find Your Future’ pathways to raise awareness of opportunities to re-train, gain essential skills and advice, or to progress careers.

The initiative is designed to provide support to the 1.6 million people across the UK who were on furlough – a Government scheme which has now concluded.

The courses, which are free-of-charge to those who meet the relevant criteria, include crucial skill training in English, Maths or Science.

GCSE lessons are also available as part of the scheme, in addition to Level 2 to Level 5 courses for adults looking to upskill in a range of sectors.

Clacton and Frinton Gazette:

Essex residents looking to change career can also benefit, as there is a raft of Business, Management and Finance courses on which they can enrol.

Those looking to turn their creative passion into a career on the other hand can opt for floristry, silversmithing, photography or fashion and textiles courses.

There are options to study to become an Early Years practitioner, a hairdresser, or a barber or beautician, and apprenticeships are available in a wide range of areas.

Katherine Burns, ACL Essex principal, said: “The last eighteen months have been tough for a lot of people.

“We’re here to give our residents the tools they need to build their skillset and qualifications and offer them the chance to reboot their career.

“Whatever your goals, from turning a passion into a career or business, to gaining a qualification to land your dream job or enter higher education, we can help.”

Residents who are unemployed or earning less tan £17,004 gross salary can access all Level 2 courses free-of-charge.

For those who are between 19-23, and people aged over 24 who do not have a full Level 3 qualification, access to all Level 3 courses is free.

Learners with a household income of less than £30,000 may also be able to receive support to help with associated learning costs.
