FIREFIGHTERS were called into action today after a cat got trapped inside a wall.
A fire crew from Basildon was dispatched after reports of a cat being stuck in the early hours of this morning.
The team were called to Langham Crescent in Basildon at 1.52am today (Saturday, September 11)
It had become trapped after crawling inside a hole in a wall but couldn't get out again.
An Essex County Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: "Basildon firefighters rescued a cat that was trapped within a wall in the early hours of this morning.
"The curious cat had found a hole and crawled inside but was unable to make its way out.
"Crews cut the wall to rescue the cat, which was unharmed and left in the care of its owner by 3:13am."
