A DRIVER who racially abused another driver has been ordered to pay almost £2,000.
Andrew Hudson shouted and swore at the woman, who was driving at the speed limit, on the A127 in Rayleigh on 8 May last year.
He had driven close to her car and flashed his headlights, before undertaking her, shouting abuse through his window.
Hudson continued to shout abuse when they reached two sets of traffic lights.
The 51-year-old, of Ashes Road, Shoeburyness, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour that was racially aggravated when he appeared at Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Monday June 14.
He was fined £900 for the offence and another £90 for breaching a suspended sentence.
He was also ordered to pay £620 in court costs and a £90 victim surcharge.

Inspector Paul Hogben said: “This was disgusting and vile behaviour, which caused the victim a great deal of distress.
“Racism and prejudice has absolutely no place in Essex and I’d urge anyone who is a victim of hate crime to please report it so we can investigate.”
