A NEW app has been released to help people discover walks across Sussex.
Over the last year, people have increasing taken to the outdoors during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Sussex Walks app has been launched as part of a long-term community driven project to record every walk in East and West Sussex.
The app gives people "easy to follow" routes and already has 250 walks around Sussex.
Users will be able to filter walks by woodland areas, waterside treks, hillwalking and pub walks.
No internet signal is required for the app to work - this means the app will always be able to give directions even in remote areas where phone coverage is limited.
The app has been launched alongside a Facebook page that has 8,000 members.
Users will be able to see pictures of other people’s walks as well as send suggestions to the developers.
The app will also be able to alert people of hazards on routes such as overgrown and obstructed routes.

The app is available from iPhone and Android app stores and costs £1.99 per month or £14.99 per year.
A free one-month free trial is available until May 31.
