Though it’s not a church school, Lorton School is part of The Good Shepherd Multi Academy Trust, a family of academies where the emphasis is on enjoying life in all its fullness.

On Thursday 5th March 2020 two Year 6 children from Lorton School joined other children from across the Good Shepherd Multi Academy Trust and headed to London to visit the Houses of Parliament!

This was the first time that schools from across the Trust had come together in this way, and will hopefully be the first of many such adventures!

The children were representatives of their School and spent the day learning more about democracy, government and politics in our country. The children at Lorton who wanted to be considered for the trip were asked to prepare a presentation for their classmates as to why they should be chosen. In keeping with democracy, the children voted in order to choose the two representatives from Lorton School.

The children were a credit to themselves, their schools and the Trust as a whole, behaving impeccably throughout the day and showing some strong political opinions too! We may have a future Prime Minister in our midst!
