A COUNCIL are calling on members of the public to consider adoption.

Brighton and Hove City Council is now part of the Adoption South East regional adoption agency.

The agency made up of a group of councils working together to give vulnerable children the best possible chance of finding families that are a match for them.

Adoption South East are particularly looking for adults who can offer a safe, loving and supportive home to; children in sibling groups, older children, children with complex health needs, and children from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds.

Councillor Hannah Clare of the council’s children, young people and skills said: "We want people to know that anyone aged 21 and above who would like to be an adoptive parent can be considered – regardless of their marital status, race, disability, sexuality or gender.

“We need people from all backgrounds who are compassionate, resilient and want to help make a very profound and positive difference to the lives of vulnerable children.”
