A WOMAN has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the torso in West Howe.

The woman, 23, was detained following an incident at 11.20pm on Tuesday night.

Police were called to Hanlon Close following reports that two people had sustained injuries.

Officers attended and it was reported that a woman had sustained a knife wound to her face and a man had been stabbed to the torso. Both were taken to hospital for treatment.

Their injuries are not believed to be life threatening. Another man was also treated for minor injuries.

Following inquiries and searches in the area, a 46-year-old Poole man was arrested on suspicion of inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent and a 23-year-old Bournemouth woman was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder. Both are assisting detectives with their inquiries.

All the individuals involved are known to each other.

Residents said there was a heavy police presence in the area and that ambulance crews also attended the scene.
