FIREFIGHTERS from Southampton were called to tackle an unattended bonfire this morning.
The crew from Redbridge Fire Station has urged the public to be more careful following the incident, which happened at Lordswood Enclosure.
A statement says: "We are spending a lot of time putting these out - please don't light them.
"Land Rover on the way to assist."
A spokesperson for Hampshire Fire and Rescue Services said: "Crews from Redbridge and Hardley were mobilised at 06:17 this morning to a small fire in the open.
"There was a fire in woodlands covering 2m x 2m.
"This was extinguished using two knapsacks, a beater and a hose reel jet."
"The stop message came in at 7.51am."
