THERE have now been 566 deaths from coronavirus in hospitals in Dudley and Sandwell.

Latest figures published by NHS England record 237 deaths linked to COVID-19 at Russells Hall Hospital in Dudley and 329 at hospitals run by Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust.

The death toll continues to rise but this chart shows how the number of patients losing their lives to the virus has fallen in Dudley and Sandwell.

Figures published by Public Health England today also show 907 people in Dudley have now tested positive for coronavirus and the borough has an infection rate of 281.9 per 100,000 people.

While in Sandwell 1,174 people have tested positive for the virus and the infection rate is considerably higher than in Dudley - standing at 358.6 per 100,000 people.

Many of those who have died were reported to have underlying health conditions.
