SOL Campbell feels the current situation at Southend United is not sustainable.
Campbell has been forced to field an incredibly young starting line-up in recent weeks, with eight of his starting line-up against Bristol Rovers aged 21 or under.
And Campbell knows it is far from normal.
“It’s where we are but you can’t really build a team like that and no-one else does that either,” said Campbell.
“You might do it at international level when you have a lot going out and a new generation coming through when you’re building for the next World Cup or European Championships but you can’t do it for League football.
“It’s not normal. If you do it normally you have mature players around to solidify things.
“This just isn’t sustainable but I have to get on with it.”
